Video | UMass CB TJ Magee

UMass cornerback TJ Magee spoke to reporters following Monday's practice.

AMHERST, Mass. - UMass cornerback TJ Magee spoke with reporters following Monday’s practice after coming away with two interceptions during the session.

Magee discussed turning more of his opportunities on the football into takeaways, what he believes are the strengths of his game and how his understanding of the defense has grown entering his second year in the system. He also talked about his return from the injury that ended his 2025 season and the approach he took while working his way back.

The veteran cornerback also touched on the chemistry developing within the secondary, including the importance of building relationships away from the field. Magee explained how that connection carries over to the entire defense, the benefit of playing behind a defensive front capable of creating pressure and the emphasis head coach Joe Harasymiak has placed on improving each day rather than paying attention to expectations surrounding the Minutemen.
