Terrific show, gentlemen. We oldtimers do get all misty-eyed about the old Yankee Conference, but it was a terrific set of rivalries - especially when you add Holy Cross, which was sort of an honorary member. Parsons Field at Northeastern was a gem. The first time I did a game there I needed directions and, en route, was convinced someone was pranking us - "turn onto Beacon Street, then take a left onto Allen, etc." - I thought we would wind up at somebody's backyard barbecue! (And for the record, UMass football was actually on the air in Boston for a time in the '80s. WUMB-FM, the campus station at UMass Boston, carried the games for a couple of seasons. They were non-commercial, so they covered the spots with promos for their weekly jazz show or whatever. Prior to that, before my time, we bought time on a soon-to-be bankrupt AM station, WEZE, which covered portions of Back Bay and not much more.) Those were the days...

Believe the guys have been back at practices for over a week. Any reports?
They haven’t started any official practices just yet.
