BREAKING | UMass Adds Thorr Bjorn As Sr. Deputy AD
ESPN's Pete Thamel reports that UMass alum Thorr Bjorn is leaving Rhode Island to oversee the football program at his alma mater.
More changes are coming to UMass, according to a report by ESPN’s Pete Thamel.
Thamel reports that UMass is adding Thorr Bjorn to be the school’s new Senior Deputy Athletic Director.
Bjorn had been the athletic director at Rhode Island for the past 18 years.
Back in Amherst, Bjorn will “oversee” the UMass Football program, according to Thamel.
Thamel adds, “Along with football admin duties, Bjorn will also be the Chief Administrative Officer. UMass AD Ryan Bamford recruited Bjorn, and the newly created position speaks to the priority of football on campus. He’s been URI AD for 18 years.”
