BREAKING | 2026 K Seamus McIntyre Commits To UMass
The Minutemen have landed New Hampshire's Seamus McIntyre, one of the top kickers in the country, according to Kohl's Kicking
Joe Castellitto is on the board for the 2026 recruiting class.
After a flurry of commitments on the offensive and defensive sides of the ball for UMass over the past few weeks, the Minutemen have landed a kicker in the form of Seamus McIntyre.
The 6-foot-2, 225-pounder from New Hampton School in New Hampshire was also considering schools like Syracuse, UConn and Buffalo among many others.
He took an official visit to UMass a couple weeks ago, which helped him make his final decision.
Back in March, McIntyre took an unofficial visit to Amherst and thanked Castellitto, the Minutemen’s special teams coordinator, special teams GA Joe Rahal and head coach Joe Harasymiak.
McIntyre is ranked as a 5-star by Kohl’s Kicking, one of the nation’s most respected training outlets for kickers.
Kohl’s ranks him as the #15 kicker in the country. McIntyre also punts, and is slotted as the #35 punter, according to Kohl’s, but we’re told he’s being brought to UMass primarily as a kicker.
Kohl’s provided analysis after McIntyre attended their Eastern Spring Showcase earlier this year and said he “delivered a well-rounded performance.”
“He made 9 field goals during the charting session and showed advanced leg talent on kickoffs with a score of 111.95, including a standout ball of 73 yards and 4.09 seconds of hang time,” the write-up continued.
“He also worked through the punting portion and earned a score of 99.47, with his best punt traveling 54 yards with 4.37 seconds of hang time.
“McIntyre is a strong combo specialist with explosive leg speed and clear next-level potential in both kicking and punting.”
He also had standout performances at showcases this past January and last winter.
“McIntyre should be one of the most recruited specialists in the Northeast in 2025!”
